NEW  TERM 2 CLASSES

Brain Rules for Ageing Well: 10 Principles for Staying Vital, Happy, and Sharp

Coordinator: Ridwan Sedwick
For enquiries, call Mob: 0451 818 842
Day: Wednesday Time: 9:30 am to 11:30 am

Venue: Booval Campus
Frequency: Weekly over 5 weeks starting 16th May
This group takes the form of a discussion in five sessions of this very interesting book, led by Ridwan Sedgwick. I am an adult educator who has become interested in neuroscience and neuroplasticity.

Dr John Medina has written several books in which he reports on research into how your brain works. His work is fully referenced, with the extensive referencing available at www.brainrules.net. Go on: check it out. Hear what he has to say about his work. Watch a video or two. The book Brain Rules For Ageing Well gives a clear explanation of the processes of ageing. It addresses these questions and many, many more: How come I can never find my keys? Why don’t I sleep as well as I used to? Why do my friends keep repeating the same stories? What can I do to keep my brain sharp?

So this is not a series of lectures. We will not be reading extended passages from the book. We will discuss some of the ideas that Dr Medina has presented in his writing. If you have read this book, or any of John Medina’s other immensely readable Brain Rules books, that would be wonderful as you will be able to make an even more valuable contribution to the discussion. Perhaps you could read the book now, or at least explore the brainrules web site and watch some of the videos.
